Murphy, North Carolina is a town in Cherokee County, North Carolina and is situated in the westernmost County in North Carolina. It’s situated at the confluence of the Hiwassee and Valley rivers, and has a beautiful Riverwalk that goes along both rivers. The Piney Knob Trail System encompasses 15 miles of recreational hiking and mountain biking trails on the 700+ acre Murphy Watershed property off of Piney Knob Hill Road. All trails are dirt single-track trails. The quaint downtown exudes beauty with flower lined streets, historic buildings, and the beauty of the surrounding mountains. Murphy has restaurants, unique shops, and other interesting establishments all within walking distance in the heart of town.  Murphy, North Carolina is part of the ancestral home of the Cherokee people with much of the Cherokee history still evident in the arts and culture of the area.
